Drown by Junot Diaz
Diaz has got some serious skills. This short story collection has the same tone and slangy-coolness that made “the Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao” such a great book, but I get the feeling these stories are closer to Diaz, that they echo more of his own experience as a Dominican-American. One thing is sure, and that is he makes it all seem so easy, I just hope we don’t have to wait until 2018 for his next book. What a talent.
